  2. So that was the problem it seems - the cable. Curious, since it's the exact same cable I've always used. I first tried connecting the mod to a different charger and cable and it charged fine. Then I used the cable from the second, working charger with the first charger that threw the error and it also worked fine. And finally, the original cable with the second charger also threw the same error, so undoubtedly the cable at fault. Thanks - that was a nice easy fix

  3. Warranty error means that the logic voltage regulator is running out of spec. Check the pack voltage and/or check the USB voltage. One or the other is probably under 4v.

  4. I've just looked at Jacob's docs on how to change a screen on a Triade. And the backside of the screen isn't even close to touching any chips (it is raised high enough away), so that isn't a possibility. Also Jacob shows how easy it is to change the Triade DNA250C screen. I wish all mods were that easy. That would take me 2 minutes tops to change out the screen. Thanks for all of the details that you have provided. And wow! Three bad screens so far. And the mod isn't used in extreme climate conditions either. That just about eliminates everything except the board itself might be hard on screens. Sure the easy thing would be to just replace the screen again. But to put a stop to this screen replacement routine would be a board replacement IMHO.

  5. Personally, I find this point very interesting; I already worry about the health of the board and display from 60 ° C - so far I have not been able to find out from the official side when the firmware will display its own overheating warning.

  6. 19/07: After a short consultation, the deficiencies should have been eliminated.

  7. Custom support is who you call when you want a special board made to your specs. Which costs tens of thousands if not more. I don't know why you would notify them for a board problem? I'd use the forum (free) or submit a RMA form.

  8. Yeah, I can see how you'd make that leap but it was just sitting on the desk overnight not plugged in or anything. I was not given a reason for why the screen failed AFAIK. I definitely did not on the one in January. I might have on the one years ago but can't find any thing relating to that on what info I have from that time. I should have asked and I'm kicking myself for not. I do know the person I talked to and who fixed it in January was @JacobEvolv coincidentally the same person who wrote the post you linked however I doubt they remember a random RMA from 6 months ago but, hey, maybe he will and will comment ITT. When I took the housing off in January I did look at/under the screen and did not see any juice anywhere nor any other part that was easily disassembled so I really don't think that is the issue. Could be a low quality screen I guess but since Evolv fixed it I'd assume low qual screen=bad batch or something rare but what are the chances of that happening multiple times? Dirty Zif connector could be the problem but I would think if that were the case it would have been cleaned when the last one was put in or that somehow this specific mod is the only one I'm getting the Zif dirty on which is odd especially with the different timing(1 year, 3 years, 7 months which is super quick) and it being around the house only no pockets no outside use you'd think it would be the least likely to get dirty UNLESS its some kind of design flaw in the Triade that makes this happen easily. (apologies for run on sentence) Also, its kind of odd they fail in different ways and not the same each time. I only use one screen pretty much since I can do everything I want from there. Screen timing is same but I do have dimmer on. I'm at about 75w usually on this mod but only TC so not using full 75w the whole time or even much of it. If it were a heat thing would it get worse even without heat? I guess you could say something might have triggered it while using it but I do know it wasn't like that when I set it down the night before, was when I woke up, and has progressively gotten worse without being used so I don't know if it were something to do with board temp its odd that it was so delayed. My house is not hot either. I keep it about 68. Also as I noted earlier I do use a heat sink to protect the threads which helps with heat a little bit and I do not dry burn coils. I just rebuild when it starts to go off. Sometimes my RDA will get warm which is pretty typical but nothing crazy. As for screen failing because of backside of screen touching chips I'm not sure but aside from the MFG initially the other 2 were installed by Evolv and I'm sure they know what they are doing. The guy who did the RMA in January literally wrote the guide on replacing Triade screens so I'm fairly confident he did it correctly. Its also not blacked out. 1st time in 2018 it did just work one day and then dead screen the next. The one in January was a bit of black that randomly spread over 2+ months time before it was unusable. The current issue started as a couple of thin horizontal blue lines(not black) and over the last ~48 hours they have multiplied exponentially. First noticed it at 2, then several hours later it was 4, several more hours and it was like 8 or so and now too many to count. So its not like blacking out per se more glitching I guess and this is all without it being used during that time aside from a single button press maybe a half dozen times in the last 2 days. Here is an updated pic. You can see the progression a bit now.

  9. Are you able to use a different cable with your external charger? I recall having a problem with getting "warranty service" message once but can't remember if it was from a particular cable or USB port.

  10. There are a number of puff counters. Total puffs, Replayed puffs, TC puffs, resettable puffs, resettable Replayed puffs, and resettable TC puffs. The former ones cannot be reset.

  11. Very interesting and detailed post @BrentMydland 👍 I know a handful of users who have had this same issue. Multiple mods, and only 1 going through screens. I wonder if Evolv ever gave you a reason for each of the prior screen swaps? Thoughts here, in the past have ranged from juice entering the board at the edges or dirty connections at the Zif connector that can be cleaned. Or just a low quality screen. The problem for us is we never hear back from the users, or from Evolv. I have never suffered a screen issue with any of mine. Having said all that, there are Evolv instructions on how to change the screen, and then you could see for yourself. https://forum.evolvapor.com/topic/71341-how-to-change-a-screen-on-lostvape-triade/ I'll go comment on a similar issue post asking about that resolution, you'll see. If it were me, my suggestion(s) to you would be the same as they were to him. Please let us know how this gets resolved.

  12. Thank you first of all. I certainly offer themes that completely require the chipset - and yet I have already installed a switch there that reduces the range of functions. I just think that many users buy mods with a DNA chip primarily because of the replay function. Then because of the mods themselves, a certain exclusivity also plays a role. I guess I'll actually add a screen to the theme; I will outsource boost / preheat and bring back the chart display for it.

  13. 16/07: I like the theme very much - for two simple reasons: A nicely reduced lockscreen and no "experiments" in the settings of the mod. Both of these are very important things for me, as the screens are often hopelessly overloaded (I also did earlier ...) and on the other hand, settings of the mod are often enabled, which often lead to problems in daily operation - not only for beginners. 07/17: Unfortunately, I have to massively correct my rating downwards, as I have now seen the stored system notifications and such a (partly wrong) sh ... does not belong published. If these are corrected, I will also increase my rating again

  14. Hello! I have created a tutorial on how to change the screen on a Paranormal, this will work on all Paranormal models. Hopefully this will help if you choose to do the replacement yourself! If you have any questions or comments I would be happy to help! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EnOp3Ejwvh49dzELEHqiudwcj9qw3ieB Thanks, Jacob
